There are nearly 6,000 students at Huaxia College; our students represent 20 provinces and autonomous regions, including Fujian, Shanxi, Zhejiang, etc. They enroll in one of six departments — finance and accounting, business administration, information engineering, business English, Inspection science and technology and humanities and creative — and one of 37 majors. For the past three years, the average entry score for liberal arts majors remained above 420, and that of science and engineering majors, above 360. Moreover, students’ graduation rate has held steady at 99%.
Classes that comprise our six departments take place in a small-classroom setting. The remaining classes typically carry 45-50 students per class.
We organized collaborative programs with both domestic and foreign educational institutions, such as Illinois Central College (ICC), Taichung University of Science and Technology, Shu-Te University, Asia University, Overseas Chinese University, Hsiuping University of Science and Technology, and Fo Guang University. Our exchange programs encourage both teachers and students to experience foreign and domestic cultures and lifestyles.
Between 2005 and 2012, we commenced a trial student and teacher exchange program with the foreign language department at ICC in order to carry out an extensive and in-depth exchange of professional disciplines and traditional cultures.
Since 2010, we have taken part in numerous teacher exchanges with four universities, including Taichung University of Science and Technology and Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology. A total of 26 students representing 7 majors at Huaxia College visited Taiwan as a part of our exchange program.
